After the horses…

For years we had horses, a little pony named Domino, my Appaloosa named Sterling, Ana had several show horses, all Arabians. But our favorite was Fauve, the beast! A very tall, sweet Angle Arab we had for 32 years. He was Bobby’s horse from the day he helped birth him.

In 2018, after Fauve left us we decided we were through with horses awhile and began a long DIY conversion of our barn into studio spaces. Over the last few years, with work in progress we have used the barn for special family event, birthdays, baby showers, large family dinners. All the while working and planning on creating Artist studios, for ourselves and to share with others.

The barn Studio

We are excited to share the studio with you. There are many areas for creating and gathering. The darkroom is mostly set up for alternative process work but can easily be used for traditional silver gelatin printing. The large workroom serves as a camera room complete with back drops and lighting or we set up tables for work areas such as framing, bookbinding, workshops, etc. Within my personal studio is an etching press available to share with others. Our newest completion is the guest room, with plans for a artist residency program.
